Sandro Brina

Began his remarkable work in 1971 ringing waders and is currently probably one of the ringers in Europe and the world who has ringed the most birds (more than 150,000). He established the OasiCostiera ornithological station on the Adriatic coast of Italy in 2004, and since then it has operated continuously, now serving as a benchmark for bird ringing during migration and international projects such as Piccole Isole.

Carles Barriocanal

He has coordinated and edited academic publications on global change and sustainability, including the book *Global Change: Ecosocial Crisis and Future Perspectives*.

Ana Catalina Pinzón

Guillem Chacon

Catalonia

He has spent decades ringing birds in the tropics of three continents. Although he coordinates his own ringing stations (in Manu NP in Peru and the Senegal Delta), Guillem Chacon dedicates himself to helping ornithologists—from resource-poor countries—create their own ornithological stations, equipping them to be autonomous and operational with national teams. He has carried out this work in 15 countries, where he lives, and is intimately familiar with the precarious conditions, needs, and processes involved.

He has worked on entomological documentation and outreach projects. He has published several books and contributed to publications and field guides on arthropods and lepidoptera. He is also known for his naturalist observation and insect photography, bringing entomology to the general public through outreach activities and specialized publications.

Sergi Sales
